When you use the JetBlue Online Services, your information and activity data is collected in several ways.
When you engage with certain JetBlue Online Services, we and our Service Providers (defined below), may collect information you provide directly via the JetBlue Online Services. For example (and this is not an exhaustive list), we collect information when you register with TrueBlue; book a flight, JetBlue Vacations package or make another travel booking; purchase merchandise; or sign up for a sweepstakes or other promotion. The information we collect may include Personal Information. You may choose to voluntarily submit certain other information to us through the JetBlue Online Services, including Personal Information, but you are solely responsible for your own Personal Information in instances where we have not requested that you submit such information to us.
When you use the JetBlue Online Services, some information about you and your online activity may be automatically collected through the use of servers and other technologies (“Usage Information”). Usage Information may include internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the internet, device identifier, browser type and version, operating system and platform, mobile device type, wireless carrier, data regarding network connected hardware, the average time you spent engaging with a JetBlue Online Service, pages viewed, information searched for, access times, geo-location information, and/or other statistics and information about your use of the JetBlue Online Service. Please be aware that if you use the JetBlue Online Services after we make reasonable efforts to remove any of your Personal Information, JetBlue may again collect information about you and use it in the accordance with this policy.
JetBlue also may be required by law, rule, regulation or other legal process to retain certain information from users about their use of the JetBlue Online Services and/or flight information. Certain of the JetBlue services, including without limitation the JetBlue Online Services, may collect Personal Information about you that includes biometric data, such as fingerprints, digital photographs, retinal scans, facial recognition data and other biometric information (collectively, “Biometric Data”). We may collect this Biometric Data using technological means, such as identification document scanners, fingerprint scanners, digital cameras, retinal scanners and facial recognition scanners, either in person at our business locations or via your device.
Biometric Data may be used by JetBlue solely for passenger identity verification purposes in order to: (1) facilitate and expedite the check-in and boarding process; (2) prevent fraud and misrepresentation; (3) enhance security at designated customs and security checkpoints; and (4) comply with applicable laws and regulations, including TSA requirements as further described in Section 10 hereof. For instance, JetBlue may use a biometric enabled check-in process, which converts a fingerprint image to a digital image that is used for identity verification purposes.
In each case, we only use these technologies with your express consent and as permitted by applicable law. JetBlue manages the security and confidentiality of Biometric Data to protect it from unauthorized access, use, disclosure or alteration. JetBlue will not use your Biometric Data for marketing purposes or share your Biometric Data with third parties for such third parties’ own marketing purposes. JetBlue complies with all local privacy laws in the collection and processing of Biometric Data.
Our agents, vendors, consultants, and other third party service providers (collectively “Service Providers”) may receive, or be given access to your information, including Personal Information and Usage Information, in connection with their work on our behalf. For example, when you purchase a ticket using the JetBlue Online Services, the information described above may be collected and processed by our ticketing agent, Sabre Inc.
When you engage with certain JetBlue Online Services related to JetBlue Vacations, the information described above may be collected and processed by a Service Provider, which helps JetBlue process Vacations bookings. When you purchase TrueBlue Points, your information may be collected and processed by Points.com, the Service Provider that administers point transactions. JetBlue also may hire a third party company to assist it in using your information as permitted by this policy. For example, JetBlue may hire a Service Provider to process your information for purposes of sending you TrueBlue partner offers we think you may be interested in.
Unless a privacy policy other than this one is posted on a particular JetBlue Online Service, this privacy policy will apply. JetBlue will only authorize Service Providers to collect, use and store your personal information for the limited purpose of providing the applicable JetBlue Online Service or to assist JetBlue in its permitted use of your information. JetBlue may allow these Service Providers to aggregate JetBlue customer data on a de-identified basis for purposes like analyzing and improving their own products and services. JetBlue will require that these companies agree to appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

We take reasonable precautions to keep all information obtained in connection with the JetBlue Online Services secure against unauthorized access and use, and we periodically review our security measures.
When you affirmatively provide us with Personal Information such as your name, address, phone number, credit card information, travel details, etc. while registering with TrueBlue or making a reservation or engaging with a feature of the JetBlue Online Services, your information is encrypted and transferred over a secure connection, available on most internet browsers. You can tell if you are accessing a secure server when the padlock icon found in most browsers appears locked and the first characters of the JetBlue Online Service address change from "http" to "https." Please note that if you provide information outside of a secure server, JetBlue cannot guarantee that information is protected with appropriate safeguards. For example, do not use email to send us credit card, billing or other personally identifiable information, as email travels unencrypted and can be read by anyone who receives or intercepts it. Once your information reaches us, we store it behind a firewall, which is a security feature that is designed to block access to the information from outside of our network. Our JetBlue Online Service contains content from and hyperlinks to websites, locations, platforms, and services operated and owned by third parties (“Third Party Services”), including those that offer ancillary travel services, map functionality, and branded or co-branded JetBlue merchandise and offers. In addition, our JetBlue Online Service contains features that allow you to interact with, connect to, or access our JetBlue Online Service through certain Third Party Services and third party devices (“Third Party Features”). For example, you use a Third Party Feature when you “like” or “share” content over social media, such as Facebook, through our JetBlue Online Service. Likewise, you interact with the JetBlue Online Services when you chat with one of our chatbots on a Third Party Service, such as our chatbots on Facebook Messenger, or access one of our voice activated skills through the microphone on a third party device. Remember that third parties may use Tracking Technologies to independently collect information about you and may solicit Personal Information from you. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screens all commercial airline customers and baggage.
As part of TSA's mission to secure airports in the United States, TSA requires you to provide certain Personal Information, such as your full name, date of birth, and gender, for the purpose of watch list screening, under the authority of 49 U.S.C. section 114, the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 and 49 C.F.R parts 1540 and 1560. The TSA may also require you to provide certain Biometric Data, such as fingerprint scans and facial recognition data. You may also provide your Redress Number, if available. Failure to provide your full name, date of birth, gender or any other information required by TSA may result in denial of transport or denial of authority to enter the boarding area. TSA may share information you provide with law enforcement or intelligence agencies or others under its published system of records notice. California’s “Shine the Light” law permits customers in California to request certain details about how certain types of their information are shared with third parties and, in some cases, affiliates, for those third parties’ and affiliates’ own direct marketing purposes. Under the law, a business should either provide California customers certain information upon request or permit California customers to opt in to, or opt out of, this type of sharing.
JetBlue may share personal information as defined by California’s “Shine the Light” law with third parties and/or affiliates for such third parties’ and affiliates’ own direct marketing purposes.
