Delayed or damaged bags
JetBlue offers online baggage claim reports so you can quickly file a claim without stopping at a Baggage Service Office. Here’s how:
- File your claim using the online claim form within four hours of landing.
- Check your claim by logging in.

If you get an error message while creating a claim and are still at the airport, please complete your claim with a JetBlue crewmember. Otherwise, you can call Central Baggage Services at 1-866-538-5438 for assistance.
Once your report is created, a worldwide electronic search is initiated that matches your bag claim number, bag type, color and contents with similar bags. This is in addition to manual searches conducted by JetBlue crewmembers.
Yes. You will have the option to pick up your delayed bag at the airport, or have it shipped to either a permanent or temporary address. Your bag will be delivered to the address listed on your claim. You can update the address listed on your claim via the customer portal online up until the point the delivery driver has picked up your bag.
In U.S. cities, you will receive an email with your bag delivery information, including a picture of the driver and the vehicle delivering your bag. The delivery service contact information will also be included if you choose to contact your delivery driver directly. Bags are not delivered after 10pm except to hotels and military bases.
Please purchase any essential and reasonable items you need while your baggage is delayed (for example: necessary clothing and toiletries). It is very important to retain all original paid receipts for replaced items. Your online claim includes a customer portal where you can upload receipts for review. Simply log in to the portal to submit your receipts.
If your bag was damaged while it was delayed, please call our Central Baggage Services at 1-866-538-5438 to report the damage within four hours of delivery. You will be asked to provide photo documentation of the damage.
Lost and found
We will make every effort to return articles found onboard a JetBlue aircraft or in a JetBlue terminal as quickly as possible.
If you realize that you left something on the plane, please let a crewmember at the airport know immediately. If you have already left the airport, please file a lost and found report online.
If possible, gather the descriptive information about the item(s) prior to filling out the form, and be sure to include any and all identifiable details to help in our search. Please enter the information as it appears on the form. Also, be sure to include the flight date and flight number reflecting when your item(s) was lost.
You may also provide additional information in the “Help us find your item-what makes it unique?” field. We also ask that you file your report as soon as you notice the item was left behind.If you did not receive a confirmation email after submitting your report online, please check your spam/junk folder. The email comes from noreply@lostandfound.aero.
Once the report has been completed, you will receive an email confirmation. If we find an item that matches the description of the lost item, we will send you an email notification with further instructions. We will continue to search for your item for up to 30 days and will update you via email.
We will thoroughly search for your item for approximately 30 days from the date the item is reported missing. If we are unable to find your item, we will send an email notification informing you that we have been unsuccessful in our efforts.
We will send you an email with a link to the shipping checkout page. You will be able to verify your shipping information and provide credit card information for shipping charges.
Passports will be sent to the US Department of State, Passport Services, and Consular Lost/Stolen Passport Section. All other personal documents are destroyed.
On the email you received when you opened your report, there is a link to the Lost and Found page. Please log into the page with your last name and report number to edit your report. You can only edit within the first few days.
