Adding Bags and Paying Fees

Bags can be added to your reservation from our website by using the Manage Trips option on jetblue.com. Just go to your Extras and you can add a bag and pay any applicable fees at any time leading up to your departure.

You can also contact us if you need assistance with adding bags to your reservation.

You can indicate how many bags you're bringing and pay the applicable fees during the check-in process within 24 hours of your flight's departure.

For your convenience, we recommend checking in online or at one of our airport kiosks. During the check-in timeframe, there is no difference in fees whether adding your bags online, at a kiosk or at the check-in counter.

If you check in online, drop your bags at the bag drop location when you arrive at the airport. A crewmember will scan your boarding document to confirm your payment, verify the bag count and weight, and print your bag tag(s).

Add your first or second bag during booking or anytime before the check-in window opens. If you would like to check a third bag (or more), it must be checked at the airport. If you would like to check multiple bags, follow this guide:

• Check your first bag: Online during booking or at airport kiosk during check in.
• Check your second bag: Only available through the Manage Trips tool or at the airport kiosk.
• Check your third and any additional bags: At airport only. Please check in at ticket counter.

• Checked bags can’t be removed from a reservation.
• Checked bag fees are only refundable if your entire booking is cancelled prior to scheduled departure.

Overweight bags must be weighed and paid for at the airport ticket counter. Allow for extra time at the airport for check-in.

JetBlue travel credits cannot be applied to the following extras:

• Checked bags 
• Same-day switches 
• Seat selection fees for Blue Basic, EvenMore®, extra legroom, priority security, pets, unaccompanied minors, service fees (including phone and GDS bookings and changes), etc. Learn more by visiting JetBlue Travel Credits.

• If you are checking bags on a roundtrip itinerary, you can expect to pay bag fees each way. 
• Save up to $10 each on your first 2 checked bags when you add them before check-in (at least 24 hours before departure). Learn more about checked bag fees.
