How to Redeem Travel Certificates
Terms and conditions for travel certificates
Certificate travel is always subject to availability and blackout dates. Change/cancel fees apply per person. Travel must be booked and completed prior to the expiration date listed on the travel certificate.
Travel certificates are not valid for bookings on partner or codeshare/interline flights.
Each travel certificate includes specific terms and conditions, such as whether it can be used for one-way or roundtrip travel, domestic or international destinations, and when it expires. These details are found in the travel authorization letter that was emailed to you, which also includes instructions on booking your reservation.
A major credit card will be required for any applicable taxes and fees. JetBlue travel credits cannot be used with a travel certificate.
Information needed for new booking requests
Travel certificate requests must be completed a minimum of seven (7) days in advance of the desired date of travel. Remember to add any TrueBlue numbers, special requests, passport information and Known Traveler numbers during booking.
If your travel certificate has a six-digit authorization (numbers only):
- Please follow the instructions on your travel certificate.
- When requesting assistance with a new travel certificate booking, please have the following details available:
- Traveler's full legal name
- Traveler's date of birth
- Traveler's contact details (address, phone number, email address)
- 3 different flight options including cities, dates, and flight numbers
- Travel certificate authorization and PIN
If your travel certificate has a 16-digit authorization (letters and numbers):
Please follow the instructions on your travel certificate. It will include a unique link that can be used to book and manage your reservation.
Blackout dates
Blackout dates are subject to change and certificate travel is always subject to availability. In addition to the dates listed below, availability can be limited on weekends.

If you have a roundtrip travel certificate, you must book a roundtrip reservation.No.
If you have two one-way travel certificates, you will need to book two separate one-way flights in separate reservations.No. Travel certificates cannot be combined with Vacations packages.
Travel certificates include:
- 1 personal item
- 1 carry-on bag
- 2 checked bags
Checked bags must not exceed 62" (157.48 cm) in overall dimensions (length + width + height) and must weigh 50 pounds (22.68 kg) or less.
Additional bags, oversized bags, or overweight bags are subject to additional fees. Select markets also restrict the weight, size, and number of bags you can bring.Travel certificate bookings can be changed as long as travel is completed by the original expiration date, there is travel certificate availability, and any applicable fee is paid for each change. Change and cancel fees must be paid by credit card. See travel certificate change/cancel fees.
Reservations must be cancelled prior to scheduled departure. If you do not cancel and do not arrive for your flight, your certificate and any money associated with the reservation will be forfeited. Travel certificate change/cancel fees.
For travel certificates issued prior to May 17, 2023:
If you choose to cancel a travel certificate booking, you are responsible for keeping the ticket number for future redemption. The cancellation fee will be applied when you rebook and must be paid by credit card. Keep in mind, you will need to complete your travel before the certificate's original expiration date.
For travel certificates issued on or after May 17, 2023:
Please use the unique link in your travel certificate confirmation email to cancel your trip. This will reactivate the certificate for you to rebook to a new date.
Seats can be added or changed in Manage Trips. Although you will not be able to change or cancel your flight in Manage Trips, you will be able to view your reservation and manage your seats and extras there.
Special requests such as wheelchair assistance should be added during booking. For additions after booking, please visit Manage Trips and add your special request using the Traveler Details menu.
TrueBlue, Passport and Known Traveler information should be added during booking.
You can add your Known Travel Number (KTN), passport information, and TrueBlue online on the Manage Trips page. Navigate to Traveler Details from the drop-down menu, then select the field you would like to update.
- You can also add your KTN during the check-in process if you are using a desktop or the mobile version of our website.
- If you are using the JetBlue app or a kiosk at the airport, you cannot add the KTN number.
- Save your KTN to your TrueBlue account so the KTN is always in your record. Join TrueBlue for this added convenience.
