Optional Services and Fees

There are no change or cancellation fees on Blue, Blue Extra, Blue Plus, EvenMore® and Mint fares. For info about Blue Basic fares, including fees and restrictions, see below. Fare difference and fare rules on date of change apply.

Change Fees

• Blue, Blue Plus, EvenMore®, Mint fares  
  • No fee for changes (difference in fare applies) 
  • Same-day switch fee:  $75 per person (waived for Mosaic members)

  • Changes (including same-day switches and standby) are not allowed. Mosaic members may continue to make free same-day switches and same-day standby on all fares (including Blue Basic, until February 28, 2025) starting 24 hours prior to departure without paying a fare difference or the applicable fee. 
  • Booked Blue Basic before Mar 18, 2024? Changes are subject to difference in fare plus the following fee: 
    • $100 (North America, Central America, or the Caribbean)  
    • $200 (other routes)

JetBlue Vacations Change / Cancel Fees

• Change and cancellation fees may apply to JetBlue Vacations packages.
• For Flight + Cruise packages the penalty varies based on cancellation date.

Save up to $10 each on your first 2 checked bags when you add them before check-in (at least 24 hours before departure). Please note that checked bag fees are only refundable if the entire booking is cancelled prior to scheduled departure.  

You can also pay for checked bags with TrueBlue points any time before check-in in Manage Trips on jetblue.com, or in My Trips on the JetBlue app.

Peak-season pricing applies to checked bags during high-traffic periods, including President’s Week, Thanksgiving and Winter holidays, and peak spring and summer travel seasons. See applicable fees and dates below.

Within the U.S., Latin America, Caribbean and Canada:

The fee for 3rd (or more) checked bag is $200.

Transatlantic flights:

The fee for a 3rd (or more) checked bag on transatlantic routes is $200/£150/€185 for off-peak and $210/£160/€195 for peak.

3 or More Bags

• Within the U.S., Latin America, Caribbean and Canada, the fee for 3rd (or more) checked bag is $200.
• The fee for a 3rd (or more) checked bag on transatlantic routes is $200/£150/€185 for off-peak and $210/£160/€195 for peak.
• Customers traveling to/from Ecuador are limited to two checked bags.
• Customers traveling to/from Guyana, Haiti, or Trinidad & Tobago from Nov 16 through Jan 15 are limited to two checked bags. Learn more about traveling with 3 or more bags.

Overweight, oversized, and excess baggage may be checked on a load-availability basis, per the guidelines detailed below. Please note, fees will be assessed for each category that applies.

• Example #1 - if a bag is overweight and oversized, the overweight fee plus the oversized fee will apply.
• Example #2 - if a bag is the third bag and is also overweight and oversized, the three additional fees (overweight, oversized, excess bag) will be assessed.

Charges for excess, oversize, and overweight bags will be assessed and collected at the airport upon check-in.

51 - 70 pounds (23.1 - 31.8 kg)

• Price: $150/£120/€140
• Bags not accepted on flights to/from the Dominican Republic, Haiti or Port of Spain.

71 - 99 pounds (32.2 - 44.9 kg)

• Price: $150/£120/€140
• Bags not accepted on flights to/from the Dominican Republic, Haiti or Port of Spain.

Bags over 99 pounds

• These bags will not be accepted.

63 - 80 inches (160.0 - 203.2 cm)

• Price: $150/£120/€140
• Not accepted on flights to/from the Dominican Republic, Haiti or Port of Spain.

Bags over 80 inches

• These bags will not be accepted.

Unlike our other fare options, Blue Basic does not include free seat selection. You may select seats for Blue Basic fares at any time for a fee. If you don’t, your seats will be assigned before departure.

Service Fee

JetBlue charges a $25 nonrefundable fee per-person on the reservation when you change, cancel, or complete a new booking over the phone or through chat.

Customers can save this $25 per-person fee by booking online at jetblue.com or managing an existing reservation from the Manage trips page.

Some exceptions to this fee are:

• Mosaic members
• Lap infants
• Extra seats
• Customers who are physically, emotionally, or cognitively unable to book online. For example:
  • Tremor in hands
  • Physical effects of a stroke
  • Anxiety
  • Learning disability
• Bookings of more than seven (7) people
• Child traveling with adult(s) booked on a separate reservation
• Customers paying with payment methods not available online
  • Multiple credit cards
  • Multiple Travel Bank credits (only one credit per person)
  • Western Union
• JetBlue Travel Certificates
• JetBlue Vacations packages
• Bookings/changes made at the airport or city ticket offices
• Military or Veteran’s Advantage bookings
