Here at JetBlue, we are committed to supporting service members and veterans transition into the workplace. With our “Vets in Blue” initiative, we are strengthening our efforts to employ and retain members of the military through outreach, networking events, career fairs and mentoring opportunities.
In 2012, JetBlue launched a veterans recruiting initiative in an effort to foster diversity and inclusion throughout the communities we serve. Supporting those who have selflessly served our country is very much the JetBlue way, and an important focus of our recruitment efforts.
Currently, JetBlue employs 1,102 veteran crewmembers working in areas such as technical operations, system operations, support centers, inflight, flight operations, customer support and at our airports throughout BlueCities.
Our talent acquisition team focuses on several initiatives to hire veterans a year. In 2013, we hosted our second Veterans Career Expo and met over 350 veterans and spouses of veterans – more than triple our attendees from 2012. While attending, attendees gained exposure to JetBlue’s hiring strategy and attended various developmental workshops. As a result of these expos, dozens of job offers were made. Our 3rd annual Veterans' Career Expo took place on November 3, 2014 and was a networking event geared toward veterans and their spouses interested in getting a better idea of what career opportunities are available at JetBlue. To learn more about jobs for veterans at JetBlue, click here.

100,000 Jobs Mission
JetBlue is a part of the 100,000 Jobs Mission—a group of leading U.S. companies with the collective goal of hiring 200,000 transitioning service members and military veterans by 2020. Since its launch in 2011, the 100,000 Jobs Mission coalition has already hired 161,752 veterans, exceeding its original goal of 100,000 by 2020. Click here to learn more.
As part of JetBlue’s “Vets in Blue” initiative, JetBlue is committed to supporting new crewmembers who are transitioning from the armed forces to a career at JetBlue. One of the resources available to our veteran crewmembers is our VetConnect mentoring program. The VetConnect program matches veteran new hires with seasoned veteran crewmembers. Together, the mentee and mentor discuss career development and gain exposure to other veterans-focused resources at JetBlue. Click here to learn more.
Vets in Blue Crewmember Resource Group
In 2013, a grassroots effort led to the creation of the Vets In Blue Crewmember Resource Group. The group is a forum for Crewmembers that honorably serve or have served in the Armed Forces of the United States, as well as supporters of military service members. The group serves as champions of JetBlue’s veteran-related initiatives.
Hiring America is the first employment TV program for transitioning veterans and their families. Its mission is to help veterans and members of the Armed Forces connect with companies that have jobs available and organizations that support the military community. Click here to learn more.
USO Center at T5/JFK is now open
The new USO Center at T5 is now officially open to any member of the military (and their families). It is located pre-security in baggage claim, accessible to travelers passing through any JFK terminal. JetBlue donated the space for the only USO Center at a NY metro area airport. The facility is staffed by volunteers from JetBlue and the community. While the center isn’t open 24 hours a day at opening, the hope is to have the center staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
