Nature callsOne of the best-kept secrets in Punta Cana, the Indigenous Eyes Ecological Park is one of the only private forest reserves in the area. This unique, unexplored jewel houses twelve fresh-water lagoons which many believe to have medicinal properties. The lagoons are fed by an underground freshwater river which empties into the ocean right before your eyes. Throughout the reserve you can also find fossilized seashells and sponges, small green snakes, frogs, lizards, red land crabs, over 199 species of birds, and over 500 plant species—36% of which only exist in the Dominican Republic. Punta Cana has the most consistent weather of any beach destination in the Caribbean—it hardly ever rains.
