we set out to the find the best onboard Internet available, but nothing we saw was good enough. All the technology was too slow and often too costly for customers.
to do things our own way and give you more than the other guys. So we partnered with our friends at LiveTV to bring you the latest and greatest Ka-band satellite technology.
we're much faster than competing Ku-band satellites and older ground-to-air technology...giving you a Wi-Fi experience that feels more like what you have at home or work.
The best part? Simply Surf, our basic web browsing plan, is FREE during our beta period. Services for high-bandwidth applications (like streaming movies) are available for purchase using our Fly-Fi® Plus plan. Don’t worry – there’s plenty of speed to go around. Just look for the decal on the outside of your aircraft.
Why fly with Fly-Fi®? (Now say that five times fast!)
With Fly-Fi®, the things you do daily on your computer, tablet or smartphone can be done in the air – and with impressive speed! Surf, browse, upload, download, search, stream, play, read, watch, listen, write, click, send, receive, buy, "like," post, blog, Instagram, tweet, book a JetBlue flight, you name it. Fly-Fi® won’t leave your web priorities up in the air.
What's the cost of Fly-Fi®?
While we're in our beta period, our basic web browsing plan, Simply Surf, will be free with a high-bandwidth plan available for purchase. Services for bandwidth-heavy applications like streaming movies and large downloads will be available for purchase on our Fly-Fi® Plus plan at $9/hour. Just log in to the Fly-Fi® portal during your flight and follow the instructions.
How long will it take to get all JetBlue planes equipped with Fly-Fi®?
Installing brand-new satellite technology on our entire fleet is no easy feat—it is basically rocket science after all. Our goal is to roll out Fly-Fi® over the course of two years, with several planes installed every month, beginning with our Airbus fleet by Spring 2015 and followed closely by our Embraer 190s. Check out the planes below to see what percentage of our aircraft currently have Fly-Fi installed.
How do I know I’m on a Fly-Fi® plane?
A Fly-Fi® decal will be visible on the outside of the aircraft beside the boarding door and instructions on how to connect to Fly-Fi® will be available in the seatback card. Some routes – such as our NYC-LAX route – will always have Fly-Fi. Although you won't know if the Internet is available on your flight at the time of booking, the day before your flight, you can check this page and search for your flight number in the widget below to see if your flight is Fly-Fi equipped.
Is Fly-Fi® Internet available everywhere JetBlue flies?
Fly-Fi® Internet connectivity is currently available only over the contiguous U.S. For flights originating outside of the contiguous U.S., Fly-Fi® Internet connectivity will be available once the aircraft returns to the coverage area. This coverage area does not necessarily guarantee service availability.
JetBlue helps you stay connected, with free Wi-Fi at Terminal 5 in New York City's JFK airport. See the table below for third-party Wi-Fi service availability at other airports in the JetBlue network.
