JetBlue Bayou: New Orleans Welcomes First Nonstop Low-Fare Service From New York City

JetBlue Offers New Planes, Leather Seats and Satellite TV from Just $69*

New York, NY, 07/26/2001 -- JetBlue is the only low-fare airline serving the two cities nonstop. Yet, while the airline offers low fares, JetBlue is hardly a no-frills service. The carrier operates a fleet of brand new aircraft, with satellite TV in every coach leather seat and offers assigned seating.

"Not only is JetBlue the only low-fare carrier serving New Orleans from New York, we're the only carrier currently serving the destination from JFK. That certainly makes getting to 'The Big Easy' even easier," said Dave Barger, JetBlue's President and COO. "And with our superior amenities and the friendliest crews you'll ever meet on the ground or in the air, we'll also get you there in comfort and style."

JetBlue's regular, ongoing fares to New Orleans start at $89 one way, which is up to 74% less than 14-day advance fares on other carriers serving the route nonstop. The airline's most expensive "walk up" fare is $229 each way, which is as much as 73% below other carriers' comparable fares.

JetBlue's schedule to New Orleans is as follows:

New York/JFK to New Orleans New Orleans to New York/JFK
Depart - Arrive Depart - Arrive
8:35am - 10:50am 11:30am - 3:25pm
3:10pm - 5:35pm 6:15pm - 10:10pm

Convenient connecting service between New Orleans and JetBlue's three upstate New York destinations, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, is available with fares ranging from $109* to $284* and introductory fares as low as $89* one way. The $89* introductory fare must be purchased by July 31 for travel through September 30, 2001. Seats are limited.

JetBlue currently operates 80 flights a day with a fleet of 15 brand new, environmentally friendly Airbus A320 aircraft. JetBlue, which has carried 2.5 million passengers since launching in February 2000, was voted the #2 domestic airline for comfort and service in the 2001 Zagat Airline Survey and recently received top ranking (A grade) in an online survey by PlanetFeedback.com. In 2001, JetBlue will take delivery of another six new Airbus A320 aircraft outfitted with roomy all-leather seats, each equipped with LiveTV offering 24-channel satellite television. LiveTV is available free of charge to all JetBlue passengers.

With JetBlue, all seats are assigned, all travel is ticketless, all fares are one-way, and a Saturday night stay is never required.
