In 2008, JetBlue partnered with, a nonprofit organization that allows customers to offset carbon dioxide emissions generated by their individual air travel with carbon offsets. The partnership enables customers to offset their flight’s carbon footprint upon completing their JetBlue itinerary online. Since 2008, JetBlue has pledged to offset all crewmember business travel by giving to In 2012, the Foundation awarded JetBlue with the 2011 People and Planet Award in recognition of the airline’s commitment to reducing crewmember and customer environmental impact. In addition, uses the company’s support to fund their initiatives in JetBlue cities. These initiatives include renewable energy and methane projects; energy efficiency and carbon credits; reforestation and avoided deforestation.

One Thing That’s Green

One Thing That’s Green is JetBlue’s ongoing effort to help the community and environment by encouraging customers, crewmembers and their communities to do “one thing that’s green” for the environment. Since 2007, more than 1,900 crewmembers and volunteers have donated their time to plant over 1,200 trees and clean up nearly three tons of trash. As part of the One Thing That’s Green campaign, hundreds of volunteers, alongside JetBlue crewmembers, celebrate Earth Day by planting trees in our hometown New York, in partnership with the New York Restoration Project and Million Trees NYC. To honor the 5th year of the campaign in 2012, we planted a tree for everyone traveling with JetBlue on Earth Day, which resulted in over 80,000 trees being planted.
