Twin peaks

St. Lucia's most famous landmark, The Pitons are twin volcanic cones that rise nearly 3,000 feet above sea level and are an attraction you can't miss—literally. They can be seen from just about anywhere on the western coast of St. Lucia. The breathtaking contrast of the lush green foliage against the sapphire blue water can be better appreciated from Mt. Gimie or from the decks of an offshore boat. However, if you are brave enough, you can venture into the Gros Piton's steep slopes on your own or by taking a tour.

What's that smell?

Known as the world's only drive-in volcano, the Sulphur Springs, get their name from the strong smell that fills the air in it and around it. This volcano which collapsed 40,000 years ago is now dormant, but has several active pots of boiling water and small geysers of hot mud which visitors claim to do wonders for the skin.

Hey bay-bay

Considered one of the most beautiful bays in the Caribbean, it's no surprise Marigot Bay has been featured in many films such as the original Dr. Dolittle, Fire Power and Water. This peaceful place with sparkling waters and swaying palms is surrounded by bars and restaurants; the soothing views from this international yacht haven make it the perfect spot for a romantic evening or a relaxing time out with friends or family.

Even the desserts have an edge: Try the JÃ¤germeister jelly and hibiscus-honey mousse with sorrel sorbet and pumpkin seeds brittle. St. Lucia's first and only sushi bar is also here.
